The Made in China pandemic is wreaking economic havoc throughout our world, leaving no one untouched, save maybe Jeff Bezos. The rest of us are left to watch our economy melt away.
One can see the melting away in the vacant streets of New York City. Yes, the city that formerly never slept, now can’t seem to wake up. And how about our empty restaurants, where conviviality was the order of the day, but where the only orders coming in today are for takeout.
But what about the real important economy, the one that brings us our daily bread. What is happening to agriculture? Tough for us city people to see what’s going on out there in farm country, is it not? We can’t see much on TV news, other than the decomposition of Seattle, Portland and Chicago. Perhaps it’s time to look away from the hopelessness of big cities and ask about the welfare of our farmers.
What we will see out there is the same thing we see in the cities, which is the decomposition of all of the elements that hold things together. In rural America one of those elements was the aircraft, facilities and people of general aviation. And this decomposition leads us to ask: Can general aviation be preserved to serve rural America?
Leave a comment: Should USA’s flying farmers get some Covid relief?
